WHO IS RITA CABEZAS?
University Studies
Rita was born in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. but has lived in Costa Rica most of her life. She got her B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, and her Licenciatura in Psychology at the University of Costa Rica.
Work Focus
From the very beginning of her private practice in Psychology, she decided that, in her work, she would integrate scientific knowledge of Psychology with the biblical perspective of life and the revelation God brings through spiritual gifts. Therefore, she identified herself as a “Christian Psychologist”.
Deliverance from Demonic Influence
Even before graduating and influenced by experiences that certain people shared with her, Rita became interested in the biblical teachings about casting out demons as well as the practice of spiritual warfare. She felt motivated by results she saw in her own life and in the lives of those she prayed for. This led her into a wholehearted involvement in the deliverance ministry and into training others to do likewise.
Author
Rita wrote her first book in Spanish, “Desenmascarado” which, many years later, was translated into English “Unmasked: Demons Lurking Behind Psychological Symptoms”. This first book opened up her ministry to hispanic people. She started getting international invitations from Christian Pastors to train them in the particular way she practiced what she called “Whole-Person Deliverance Process” which included not only casting out demons, but also healing of the emotions.
Inspired by the lack of knowledge in the Church regarding the deliverance ministry, she continued to write books on this topic, in order to guide Christian leaders into the battle against the Kingdom of Darkness. Most of these books are in Spanish and she is currently involved in translating them into English and Russian. Why Russian? Because right after publishing Desenmascarado, God asked her to find someone to translate it into Russian. It wasn’t until about 30 years later when she was interviewed by Vladimir Prokhnevskiy on his podcast God’s Voice Daily, that God put her in contact with Yuliya Kostenko who voluntarily became her official translator to put all of her material into Russian. When this happened, Rita expressed: “God and His angels are celebrating in Heaven because something which was very dear to His heart, is finally being accomplished!” So, thank you Vlad and thank you Yuliya for making this possible!
Seminars
For years she traveled internationally teaching seminars on the topics of healing of the emotions, casting out demons of people, organizations and territories, developing prophetic gifting, etc.
Private Practice
She has always had her private office in San José, Costa Rica, Consultorio de Psicología Crsitiana, where she practiced “Christian Psychotherapy”, helping her patients to heal their emotional traumas in order to discover and solve the demonic footholds they have in their unresolved emotional and mental issues. However, now people don’t have to travel to Costa Rica for this Whole-Person Deliverance Process, since she currently handles her appointments through WhatsApp videocalls. And yes, demons do manifest even through social media, as God’s presence and power is everywhere!
Raising Up Prophets
Rita was not brought up in a church where the gift of prophesy flowed, but when God opened her eyes to the reality of this gift in the modern-day church, to the reality of the fact that God still speaks today through His prophets, she got involved in the prophetic ministry, in helping people discover their prophetic gifting and training them to assume their rightful place in ministry. Thousands of people come to this earth equipped with prophetic gifts but they don’t discover this soon enough to develop them and use them in Christ’s Church. Rita was always on the look-out to uncover these gifts in her patients and help them assume their responsibility in the Body of Christ.
Whole-Person Deliverance Process
God taught Rita how He wanted her to work with her patients, using her studies in the field of Psychology first and then helping people spiritually, discovering the demons that have entered through trauma, but also through generational curses and contact with the occult. She helps them discover the kind of gifts Holy Spirit has given them and motivates them to develop them to serve God.
This is why she generates a safe environment in her office, for the person to feel comfortable talking about his or her spiritual experiences, good and bad. In her office people will not be categorized as psychotic or schizophrenic for speaking about strange spiritual experiences they’ve had. Rita helps them discern these experiences based on the Word of God.
Rita believes that God not only exists but is also the Creator of everything that exists and is present in every aspect of the person’s life, because He has a personal plan for each individual He sends to this earth. She is convinced that if people want to find satisfaction and guidance for every decision they have to make, they need to connect with God to discover not only the spiritual gifts He has given them but also the mission God has preordained for them.
She is convinced that, although God obviously uses health and mental professionals, in the end, the One who has the power to heal both soul and body, is God, not the psychologists, psychiatrists or doctors. Therefore, it is only through a personal and intimate relationship with God that people can find meaning in life, the satisfaction of all their needs, the joy and peace required to live a full life on earth. She helps her patients find goals that boost them toward a life that’s totally centered in God and biblical values, because this is the only way that people can have total protection and the spiritual power needed to be sheltered from the attacks of the Kingdom of Darkness ruling over this earth.
Rita Cabezas Ministries
There are several ministries under the umbrella of Rita’s ministry, but at this time, the main objective of their work is helping people heal emotionally and spiritually not just to feel better in themselves, but for helping others achieve wholeness and purpose in order to accomplish their mission in God’s Kingdom. As Rita likes to say: “God didn’t send anybody to this earth on vacation. We all have a mission and we need to fulfill it so when we come before God at the end of our lives we can say like Jesus and Paul: ‘It is finished. I have completed my work.’ Only then will we be received by God as good and faithful servants”.
Her ministry has established the Instituto Teológico de Liberación Integral which trains people in the areas of Spiritual Deliverance, Christian Counseling, Prophetic Gifting, Christology and Pneumatology. These courses are currently only taught in Spanish. Rita is involved in writing the books used in these courses, but they are taught by Francisco Jiménez who is also a Christian Psychologist and Theologian. Rita is now working on developing courses in English to make available on her website.
